Elixir Unveils SBC Application

The U.S. government recently stated that under the Affordable Care Act, health insurers and group health plans were needed to provide the 180 million Americans who have private insurance with clear, consistent and comparable information about their health plan benefits and coverage.

These new regulations will make sure consumers have access to important forms that will assist them in understanding and evaluating their health insurance choices.

Helping healthcare insurers meet the September 2012 mandate for creation of a uniform summary of benefits and coverage, Elixir Technologies Corporation has unveiled its Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) application. The application is offered under the Tango Communication Management System for Healthcare.

Tango from Elixir Technologies combines people and activities for design and development of personalized print, mobile and online communications. It offers wider participation, workflow management and automation facilities, the company stated in a press release.

“Many health plans looking for a solution to support the SBC requirement already have other Elixir software in place in various departments" said Feroz Zaidi, President. "Elixir has been a leading software developer since 1985 and a large number of health plan providers already use other Elixir products to support document composition for high-volume print production. Our expansion to support line-of-business correspondence such as the SBC has been welcome news to our existing customers.”

In 2010, TMC’s Raja Singh Chaudhary reported that Elixir Technologies partnered with Netezza to offer solutions that will help the companies and non-technical professionals to evaluate large, complicated sets of data. It will also help them produce actionable findings in a quick manner.

The agreement will also allow the companies to expand its worldwide reach, as Singapore-based Elixir Technology had started its operations in the North American region by opening its office in Irvine, California.
