HealthPlanOne, a provider of a mobile interface offering competitive products in the Medicare marketplace, has announced it provides leads and health quoting technology to help insurance agents nationwide find Medicare eligible prospects anywhere at any time.
The app also provides customers with information about the Medicare plans available in their areas.
MedicareOnTheGo, HealthPlanOne's mobile quoting tool, includes information for agents that includes over 65 private Medicare insurance carriers, dynamic plan rates by market, robust plan benefit information and enrollment applications.
MedicareOnTheGo may be especially helpful to agents traveling around their territories, according to the source, because it does away with the need to lug around volumes of plan benefit brochures, organizing paper applications and worrying about wireless Internet access.
MedicareOnTheGo allows agents to find prospective customers, quote plan rates and access forms on Android, iPhone and tablet mobile devices.
"Giving agents the ability to quickly and easily quote different Medicare plans from their mobile phone dramatically increases the level of service they are able to provide customers while also increasing sales efficiency." said Tom Wicker, vice president, brokerage sales, HealthPlanOne.
In 2011 there were 47.5 million Medicare enrollees, according to census figures, up from 34.3 million in 1990. That number is expected to double by 2030.
What’s even scarier, though, is that as our population continues to age, and the number of beneficiaries goes up, the amount of people working to supply the benefits does down, so that it’s projected that by 2030, there will be 2.3 people supporting one beneficiary, compared to 4 in 2000.
Medicare spending was estimated at $525.0 billion in 2010, according to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).
According to Veronique de Rugy, it was estimated in 1967 that Medicare would cost about $12 billion by 1990, but it actually cost more than $98 billion that year.
