Children's Health Fund Taps RHUB Communications to Improve Child Health Care

RHUB Communications has announced that the Children's Health Fund has picked their TurboMeeting technology to help them deliver better pediatric care to underserved populations.

"Every penny spent on administrative costs takes resources away from caring for a child," said Dr. Jeb Weisman, CIO at Children's Health Fund. “CHF's investment in RHUB's TurboMeeting has also allowed our small support organization to function as if it is two to three times the size. It allows us to bypass the recurring expenses required by on-line web conferencing services because we own the device."

The San Jose, Calif.-based RHUB specializes in all-in-one Web conferencing appliances. Appliances include videoconferencing, audio conferencing, remote support, remote access and Web seminar functions.

The CHF was co-founded by singer-songwriter Paul Simon and Dr. Irwin Redlener. The not-for-profit, which has been operating since 1988, aims to allow underserved populations access to pediatric care. The CHF operates in 23 programs in 18 states as well as the District of Columbia. The charity has a fleet of 50 mobile clinics.

RHUB's TurboMeeting Web-based conference system lets them take advantage of the software package's quick-refreshing graphics to control their services, predict costs and deliver their healthcare services with greater reliability and independence.

They also use Web conferencing for training doctors and other personnel, helping medical teams across the U.S. collaborate, as well as training staff how to track rates of asthma, how to refer patients to specialists and other youth health-related needs.

Hitachi is also using RHUB Technology in its own teleconferencing product. The company is partnering with Collaboration Technologies to offer Web conferncing solutions in Europe.

“More than a million users across the globe are already experiencing the benefits of RHUB technology,” said Larry Dorie, CEO of RHUB Communications. “The relationship with Collaboration Technologies will be pivotal in supporting the rapid growth we’re already experiencing in the UK and Europe. We’re very pleased to have them on board.”
