eCareSoft's Nimbo App Gives Android Users Access to Medical Information on the Go

eCareSoft, Inc. announced today the launch of its Android cloud application for Nimbo, which helps streamline practice management, create electronic health records (EHRs) and e-prescribing solutions for single or multiple physician clinics, and connects hospitals and their affiliated physician networks, according to a company press release.

The application, Nimbo ONC-ATCB Certified Complete Ambulatory Electronic Health Record,  can be integrated with eCareSoft's Cirrus™ ONC-ATCB Certified Complete Inpatient-Hospital EHR.  Both are “Software as a Service” (SaaS) cloud-based solutions, the press release reports.

Cloud solutions allow organizations to store data and manage their computer systems over the Internet.

According to a recent Gartner report, the market for Android smartphones is growing exponentially, accounting for over half of the smartphones sold in the fourth quarter of 2011, with a 50.9 percent market share, according to the press release.

“Interest in mobile applications from healthcare practitioners continues to grow and is essential to our technology strategy,” said Jorge Luis Camargo, chief strategy officer, eCareSoft. “With this release, physicians can easily log onto the tablet version of Nimbo

from the hospital, home, or another facility and securely access vital patient information,” said Camargo.

The press release adds that Nimbo is a “native mobile application with enhanced encryption technology to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of the electronic patient data.”

Each clinical component within Nimbo, part of the company’s practice management application, provides real-time visibility to the clinical and financial operations of the practice. With Nimbo, physicians can now have access to a variety of office and case management capabilities, including information on patient appointments, responding to messages, approving orders, reviewing vitals and referring a patient to the hospital or a specialist — all anywhere, anytime, from their mobile devices, the press release says.

And it works for patients, too. A recent survey found that 70 percent of respondents said they wanted wellness information and tips delivered to them while on the go.

Nimbo can be put in place in 30 days for most small practices, according to the press release.
