Medullan, Inc. has announced two new clients with whom it is working to help focus strategy and development on new mobile health products and services, according to a company press release. Medullan offers health and wellness applications for such clients as Partners Healthcare and Optum Health, working with them to develop and implement mobile health strategy and applications, according to the press release.
The mobile healthcare marketplace has increased exponentially, according to a recent report by Global Information, which announced that the smartphone application market for mobile healthcare “increased by a factor of 7 to reach $718 million in 2011.”
And it is showing up everywhere, from Asia, to right here in the U.S., connecting worried parents with injured children in places far away to helping physicians share data in near-real time, helping them make faster decisions, and reduce costs. Johns Hopkins is even studying it to see what new apps might be needed for the future.
And recent surveys are finding that young adults use their iPhones to check health information on the go all the time.
Medullan consults with clients' in-house teams to help them focus more closely on mobile health applications in development. Medullan said in the press release that it can partner with clients in problem definition, user experience, and design and software architecture.
Medullan said its expertise can especially help clients in today’s world of constant changes in healthcare and technology.
