CJPS Medical Systems Announces Launch of VitalPoint NOMAD

CJPS Medical Systems announced that it has launched VitalPoint NOMAD, what it’s calling its central nursing station system, which allows clinicians to remotely monitor patients via any Windows-based PC, laptop, or tablet using the VitalPoint NOMAD Telemetry System (NTS) software, according to a company press release.

Patients are watched over a set of VitalPoint PRO vital signs monitors which can be monitored remotely, according to the press release.

The company said in the press release that some of VitalPoint PRO’s value is found in its small weight and footprint, its price, and its ability to monitor patient data remotely in real-time. In addition, the telemetry solution does not require any installation, or any proprietary equipment or dedicated servers, reducing costs, according to the press release.

“Users can simply watch up to 64 bedside monitors from each Windows-based computer or tablet, via a truly ‘plug & play’ technology,” the press release says.

Telemetry solutions are becoming increasingly popular because doctors – and patients – can be mobile while being monitored, not chained to a costly hospital bed. These solutions are especially important in rural areas where access to medical care is not always available.

The technology is being used for everything from stroke detection to allowing pregnant women to move around and still receive maternal-fetal monitoring.

Research company Global Industry Analysts predicts that the global market for ECG telemetry devices alone will reach some $1.1 billion by 2015.
