KMJ Selects Online Tech's HIPAA Compliant Cloud to Host its SaaS Application

KMJ Health Solutions has selected the fully managed and HIPAA compliant cloud from Online Tech to host its medical Software-as-a-Solution (SaaS) application.

In a release, Dr. Michael Lazar at Henry Ford Health System said that, “The sign-out list has made patient transition easier, safer, and more efficient. Electronic medical sign-out should be mandatory for all health care personnel.”

KMJ’s eDoclist solution which has been designed as a patient sign-off and handoff application is popular among hospitalists, residents, and physician practice groups who leverage the solution to avoid any instances of communication errors such as duplication and omission. The eDoclist solution which has been deployed by the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Mich., has already garnered extensive appreciation.

Dr. Jeff Jennings, president of KMJ Health Solutions, said that, “Patient privacy and 100 percent  HIPAA compliance are paramount for us, so we prioritized finding a hosting company that would share their independent HIPAA audit report with us and sign a Business Associate Agreement.”

KMJ Health Services was looking for a hosting solution for its eDoclist application which offered flexibility, was highly scalable, and was fully HIPAA compliant. IT application providers were particularly concerned about driving business expansion and growth without having to compromise on security, privacy, and availability of patient health information (PHI).

Kristen Woldin, operations manager at KMJ, said that, “We also needed HIPAA compliant servers at a price that would support a growing business. Online Tech's HIPAA cloud package was perfect for us.”

The HIPAA compliant hosting solution from Online Tech offers physical, environmental and infrastructure security which is compliant with HIPAA standards by ensuring patient health information is readily available and secure at all times.

April Sage, Online Tech's director of Healthcare Vertical, said that, “There's a lot at stake for protecting patient health information. We weren't comfortable self-assessing our state of HIPAA compliance. Investing in independent audits gives us and our client's confidence that we understand our responsibilities under the HITECH Act as Business Associates. We're excited to support KMJ Health Solution's growth as innovators at the forefront of health care technology.”
