ChartLogic Announces New SAAS-Based EHR

ChartLogic, a premier provider of EHR solutions to small and mid-sized medical groups, has released the newest version of its popular electronic health record, ChartLogic 8.

Offered on a software-as-a-service basis, ChartLogic 8 will enable medical groups to obtain one of the most advanced physician-oriented EHR systems on the market without having to purchase expensive hardware.

In 2001, ChartLogic Inc. was named Utah's 20th Fastest Growing Company and in 2004, it was listed in Inc. magazine's Inc. 500 list as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States.

Company officials said that SAAS, also known as "on-demand software," allows the program to be hosted on the vendor's computers and accessed by users via the Internet.

With SAAS, the need for IT staff to run and maintain the system is completely eliminated and the program is update automatically.

Fully compatible with ChartLogic 7, the latest version features PrecisionVoice dictation technology and an easy-to-use patient portal. It provides a complete EHR suite that interfaces with more than 125 specialty medical practice management systems including the ChartLogic Practice Management System.

Designed for ease of use by clinicians and office personnel, these secure systems also support improved patient care and safety.

"For smaller medical groups, running ChartLogic 8 with SAAS is a convenient, cost-effective option. They don't need to invest in powerful servers and we will handle key HIPAA security requirements such as encryption and emergency data backup. This removes the need for back-up tapes in locked storage cabinets," said Brad Melis, founder and executive vice president of ChartLogic.
