AeroScout, a leading provider of unified asset visibility solutions announced that its temperature monitoring and asset tracking and management solutions have been implemented by Tift Regional Medical Center (Tift).
AeroScout noted that Tift, a not-for-profit regional hospital in Georgia, has turned to AeroScout’s tracking solutions as part of its commitment to innovation and healthcare excellence.
“After conducting an extensive review of the market, we determined that AeroScout had the most cost-effective solutions, which also demonstrated immediate value and gave us the ability to expand in many directions in the future,” assistant VP and CIO at Tift Regional Medical Center said in a statement. “Almost immediately after implementing the wireless temperature monitoring solution, we saw improvements in staff efficiency and regulatory compliance. As a result of this success, we decided to quickly deploy AeroScout's asset tracking solution.”
A regional hospital serving 12 counties in South Central Georgia, the Tift medical center provides a wide range of services, including six Centers of Excellence offering advanced care in oncology, cardiology, neurology, surgery, women's health and emergency medicine.
AeroScout's Real-Time Location System (RTLS) runs on Tift's existing Wi-Fi network. Using AeroScout’s RTLS, Tift was able to keep a tab on medical equipment and is also able to better manage them. The RTLS solution also assists the healthcare provider to wirelessly monitor temperatures in refrigerators and freezers. All these have resulted into increased operational efficiency and equipment utilization, followed by enhanced patient safety and care.
AeroScout’s RTLS system has already helped Tift achieve enhanced operational efficiency throughout the facility, according to company officials.
The hospital first employed AeroScout's temperature monitoring solution to automate the monitoring of refrigerators and freezers containing medications and other critical items. The solution has Wi-Fi temperature tags that measure temperatures on a defined time interval and transmit the data wirelessly to AeroScout's MobileView software. In case of deviation from the safety mark, alerts are sent to the appropriate staff members.
The solution also helps quickly locate critical equipment like wheelchairs, stretchers and infusion pumps, throughout the facility.
AeroScout’s RTLS solution is also helping Tift to minimize spoilage of emergency medications and other medical supplies on crash carts. The AeroScout Wi-Fi Tags help locate crash cart throughout the hospital and also show the expiration date of time-sensitive supplies, ensuring that items are either used or are taken out of rotation before they expire.
Recently, AeroScout announced that Continental Tire of the Americas is using AeroScout's Asset Tracking Solution combined with Global Data Sciences' Inventory Management System to increase production and efficiency in its North America manufacturing plant.
