Optimal Solutions, a Michigan based software development and engineering company, has recently announced that its eVideon Healthcare IPTV System will be deployed soon at the Blodgett Hospital. The Blodgett Hospital, another Michigan based patient care facility, will be installing the Optimal Solutions’ eVideon Healthcare Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) System in order to replace Blodgett’s current RF analog television distribution system. Both the patients and visitors of hospital and healthcare facilities are provided with personalized access to educational content and hospital information, as well as entertainment options.
Recently, the eVideon Healthcare was launched at the new Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which was opened in January 2011 and was the most recent hospital to install the eVideon Healthcare (IPTV) system. This was soon followed by the contract with the Blodgett Hospital. There is a rapidly growing demand for eVideon Healthcare as hospitals are looking for more features from their television systems and eVideon Healthcare is the only end-to-end IP system on the market being which is being offered to the healthcare industry. The system is completely digital and does not require coax cable or in-room computers.
The eVideon interactive patient television system, Optimal Solutions’ premier product, has been designed to provide patients and visitors of hospital and healthcare facilities with personalized access to educational content and hospital information, as well as entertainment options. The eVideon system can be used in the field of education as well as healthcare. Some of the key features and benefits of the eVideon system include, Personalized Education, High Quality Digital Movies, Professional Development, Customizable TV Package, IP based end to end (IPTV), Integrated HL7 interface, Fully Customizable Work flow, Custom Hospital Branding, and High Reliability and Stability. The components of the eVideon content management system are web-based thereby allowing non-technical staff to manage and modify programming provided to patients at a moment's notice and the content gets streamed to each room's TV as well as waiting rooms, staff lounges and any other TV location. The eVideon interactive television system enables physicians and hospitals to meet the demands of patient education even after a patient has been discharged, with the help of survey or tracking options, which allows hospital staff to track patient comprehension for improved patient outcomes and clinical work flows.
In a release, Jeff Ingle, president of Optimal Solutions said that, "We're pleased that hospitals are finding our system to be technically advanced and affordable while offering robust features and ease of operation for the patients and their staff. eVideon Healthcare is the only system that is entirely IP based; guaranteeing HD quality to any Ethernet port and empowering interactivity between the patient and the hospital. This results in patients being more engaged, satisfied, educated, and entertained. Post implementation survey results have been outstanding."
