Advanced Physical Medicine of Yorkville Announce New Medical Equipment

Advanced Physical Medicine of Yorkville has shed some light on their new medical equipment that is targeted primary at back and leg pain sufferers. The three new pieces of equipment has been designed to provide relief to patients recovering from lower back disc herniations and leg pain and is known to expedite the recovery process.

The newly acquired equipment comprises of a whole body vibration unit, a 4-way hip strengthening machine, and the quad and hamstring machine. As expected, each unit serves a specific purpose. So whereas the whole body vibration unit uses vibration to stimulate the body's muscles, the 4-way hip machine specially tackles hip adduction, abduction, extension, and flexion. According to the Advanced Physical Medicine of Yorkville, the whole body vibration unit produces vibrations waves that cause the muscles to contract 25 to 50 times every second.

Yorkville chiropractor, Dr. Brian Berkey from the Advanced Physical Medicine of Yorkville says,"These new machines complement our integrated approach to injury rehabilitation and chiropractic care.” He added, "Elite athletes use these machines to recover following sports injuries. We are excited to offer patients these cutting-edge treatments. Short training sessions of only 15 minutes on the vibration unit produce dramatic results. As we increase the acceleration load, the vibration machine causes the body's muscles to work harder. The vibrations help train the body, without the high stress impact of physical activities like running. This combines the best of intense cardio with low-impact conditioning for impressive results."

Then there is the quad and hamstring machine, which isolate and tone the quad and hamstring muscles, so that the patient is able to strength his or her leg muscles. The Yorkville chiropractors are already noticing significant changes in their clients, “when patients are struggling with chronic pain, the last thing they want to do is hit the gym for a workout," said Dr. Berkey. "Our machines help patients enjoy the same benefits of intense rehabilitation training without the risk of re-injury to the body or damage to the soft tissues."
