Physicians Interactive's Skyscape Mobile Healthcare Solution Registers over Two Million Users

Physicians Interactive Holdings, a division of Skyscape.com Inc. and provider of online and mobile clinical resources and solutions that enable medical professionals to deliver improved patient care services, announced that more than two million healthcare professionals from across the globe had registered over the Skyscape user network, its mobile healthcare solution.

Mobile technology and app adoption among medical professionals has seen a rapid increase as currently 81 percent of U.S. physicians use a smartphone on the job while 38 percent of physicians make use of medical apps in their daily work. It has been estimated that mobile technology implementation or expansion will be seen among two-thirds of medical professionals in 2012.

While Physicians Interactive over the years has received multiple awards for developing interactive Web-based and mobile healthcare programs, its Skyscape solution this year received the "Superstar" award for the Enterprise Software: Healthcare Reference category. Among other achievements, the company introduced Health eVillages, a non-profit initiative which provides clinicians across underserved and at-risk locations with mobile medical references and decision enabling technology solutions.

The company also introduced four new individual and / or suites of mobile Skyscape resources which include the Nurse Practitioner Suite, featuring 14 primary care resources in one mobile app for nurse practitioners and the 2012 Nurse Drug Handbook, which contains detailed information covering more than 1,000 generic and 3,000 other brands of drugs. The company also introduced the CardioSource Mobile App, which has been designed to feature the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guideline recommendations in addition to evidence-based medical content gathered from CardioSource.org. The Pediatrics Suite contains ten vital pediatrics resources.

Additionally, the company has also introduced a new and optimized version of its Skyscape RxDrugs drug guide which includes formulary support and drug interactions resources. Leveraging Skyscape RxDrugs drug guide, prescribers can easily check the health plan coverage for thousands of brand names and drugs prescribed to the patients directly.
