Intelligent InSites, a provider of real-time location software (RTLS) for enterprises, has announced that it will be integrating its InSites RTLS solution with Tempsys’ real-time locating technology, Fetch. This partnership will benefit clients of both the companies tremendously.
Intelligent InSites mainly caters to hospitals helping them improve operational performance through cost savings as well as provide quality care to patients. Clients can leverage several InSites’ applications for asset management, patient flow and temperature monitoring. And by the integration of InSites RTLS and Temsys’s Fetch, clients can now opt for multiple RTLS technologies.
In a press release, Ralf Mehnert-Meland, director of developer/OEM relationships at Intelligent InSites, said, “This is a huge benefit to our clients, especially integrated delivery networks, who may not want to limit themselves to a single RTLS technology. Instead they are able to incorporate multiple RTLS technologies based on a particular use case and a preference of each facility within the whole enterprise.”
The InSites RTLS software solution is developed to gather real-time location and data from any type of RTLS technology, including active RFID, infrared/RF, passive RFID, ultrasound, Wi-Fi, and ZigBee, while managing them holistically through the InSites interface.
Robert Yuan, founder and CEO of TempSys, said, “We are very excited about the ability of the InSites RTLS solution to leverage data from our locating system. In my view, Intelligent InSites is the only RTLS software provider who can meet the complex RTLS needs of the healthcare enterprise.”
Yuan explained that only after a thorough understanding and evaluation of existing technologies ranging 802.11 Wi-Fi to Infrared to ZigBee standards did Temsys come up with this solution, which is based on its proprietary 900 MHz RF technology. The solution also uses a unique ultrasound system that results in location accuracy to up to 18 inches.
Tempsys is headquarted in San Francisco and is a provider of real-time enterprise monitoring and tracking solutions. Its two most important enterprise solutions are Fetch RTLS and CheckPoint that offer temperature and vital parameters monitoring, cold-chain management, RFID inventory management, asset visibility and workflow optimization.
In a related development, Inteligent InSites and Pentanho Corporation, a business analytics company, have partnered to aid hospitals in improving patient satisfaction and operational performance.
