Mobile Aspects, a healthcare technology supplier focused on delivering clinical process improvements, has recently unveiled new clinical supply automation system "iRIS Touch."
iRIS Touch is designed to manage lower cost supplies found in the clinical areas of the hospital and as a compliment to Mobile Aspects existing passive RFID supply, tissue and endoscope tracking solutions.
In a release, Suneil Mandava said, "There is no one size fits all solution for supply tracking technology in healthcare, it should be the specific need or desired process improvement which drives technology selection. Our focus has always been on enabling healthcare providers to deliver safer, more efficient care through automation & data driven decision making."
iRIS Touch has the ability to send and receive information from Mobile Aspects’ web based reporting system iRISynergy.
Officials said that this helps the management of low cost supplies via barcode scanning within the same application users would access, to manage high value implants, tissues and devices currently being tracked with passive RFID tags.
The system helps improve charge capture and tracking accuracy and eliminates manual documentation and counting. It also prevents product loss and expiration.
Some of the key features include: secure storage unit with color touch screen monitor, track via Manufacturer's Native Barcodes or generate Unique ID and available interfaces: ADT/ Schedule, Materials Management & Patient Billing.
According to the officials, the systems release will provide hospital administrators with the ability to configure a comprehensive and cost effective solution, helping them meet the unique challenges of their organization.
In related news, the Children's Hospital of Alabama has purchased the iRISecure tissue tracking system from Mobile Aspects.
