Toshiba America Medical Systems Demos Patient-Focused Medical Solutions at AHRA

With an objective to improve the lives of patients, clinicians and administrators by improving diagnostic accuracy, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. has been marketing, selling, distributing and servicing diagnostic imaging systems, as well as coordinating clinical diagnostic imaging research for all modalities in the United States.

Recently, Toshiba America Medical Systems demonstrated its patient-focused technology solutions, such as Aquilion ONE, Aquilion Premium CT systems, M-Power MR system user interface, Aplio MX ultrasound system and Kalare Wireless, at the Association for American Medical Systems Management (AHRA)’s annual meeting in Grapevine, Texas.

The Aquilion ONE is a dynamic volume CT system designed to improve patient outcomes while achieving cost efficiencies. Unlike other CT system available, it can cover up to 16 cm of anatomy using 320 ultra-high-resolution, 0.5-mm detector elements to image an entire organ, including the brain and heart, in a single rotation.

In addition, the Aquilion ONE system features other advanced radiation dose reduction technologies as well, in order to make CT imaging safer for patients.

The AquilionPremium is also a dynamic volume CT system that can cover up to 8 cm in a single rotation. This system is field-upgradeable to 16 cm of coverage.

Another solution to be showcased at AHRA includes the M-Power User Interface (WIP), which is a fully customizable MR system user interface that facilitates technologists to accelerate scanning processes and enhance diagnoses.

Featuring a simplified user interface, the M-Power features Atlas Compass, an automated coil selection tool and 3D Visualization Applications to increase exam accuracy, streamline the imaging and visualization processes and reduce exam times. According to the company, it will soon be available for use on all of the company’s MR systems with an upgrade path for those systems already installed.

Toshiba’s Aplio MX, which will be demonstrated at AHRA, is an ultrasound system featuring the company’s Precision Imaging and Differential Tissue Harmonics technologies. These technologies acquire ultrasound images of high clarity and resolution for better and more accurate diagnoses, regardless of patient size.

According to Toshiba America Medical Systems, the Aplio MX has a smaller footprint that facilitates clinicians to bring the ultrasound system to the patient’s bedside, thereby enabling faster exams and greater department productivity.

Apart from Aquilion ONE, Aquilion Premium CT systems, M-Power MR system user interface and Aplio MX ultrasound system, the Toshiba America Medical Systems will also demo its Kalare Wireless at AHRA.

Toshiba’s Kalare Wireless is an R&F system featuring the new Harmony Digital Imaging System, which provides: faster image processing; a more intuitive interface; increased dynamic range; and advanced imaging processing for fluoroscopy.

With the help of Kalare Wireless, clinicians can obtain more information from the images, thereby enabling for better patient diagnosis. In addition, Toshiba will also demonstrate a 14"x17" wireless detector featuring a rotating bucky tray for improved productivity and safety.

At AHRA, Toshiba along with the AHRA will be announcing the fourth annual Putting Patients First Program, which provides healthcare facilities with the resources required to improve imaging quality and safety for patients.
