CSC Chosen by Erie Insurance to Upgrade Customer Service Capabilities

CSC has announced that Erie Insurance, a Fortune 500, multi-line insurance company headquartered in Erie, Pa., has now use CSC's Agency Link for its property and casualty (P&C) policy administration system, according to a press release posted at tmcnet.com.

Agency Link allows customer service reps to respond more quickly and provide better service when handling complex customer service inquiries, according to the press release. It also helps companies deal with new business and policy management transactions, in real time via the Internet, according to the press release. Agency Link allows “agents to rate, quote and issue new policies through an agency portal, their own agency vendor system, a comparative rater or a combination of channels”.

Erie uses CSC's Series II software to handle policy administration for its P&C lines of business,  improving “the pace of the business benefits resulting from these enhancements, while avoiding the expense of a full system replacement,” reads the press release.

“We chose to enhance our long-standing CSC software to preserve our IT investments while driving down cost of operations, accelerating product development cycles and improving service to our agents and customers,” said Eric Miller, senior vice president of Information Technology at Erie Insurance, in the press release. “By utilizing this low-risk approach, we're able to select and implement the functionality when we need it, while leveraging our current, proven assets.”

Added Jeffery Schwalk, president of CSC's Property and Casualty Insurance Division, “By augmenting existing systems with CSC enhancements and components of our insurance-specific software portfolio, insurers can benefit from the latest technologies and increase business value. Erie's decision to update Series II using Agency Link will support the company's efforts to attract new agents, increase producer and customer satisfaction, and promote profitable growth.”

According to the press release, many P&C insurance companies rely on CSC's industry expertise and  software and services to streamline and grow their operations. CSC has one of the largest portfolios of insurance application software, a full range of consulting, systems integration and outsourcing services, and an extended network of industry and technical alliances.
