A surrogacy program is recommended based on the following compelling indications and reasons:
- the uterus is absent since birth or removed for medical reasons;
- the cavity or cervix is ??deformed;
- uterine synechiae, not subject to treatment;
- health problems that make it impossible to carry a fetus or give childbirth;
- repeated IVF attempts that failed.
A somatically and mentally healthy woman can become a surrogate mother, provided that her health status is confirmed by the results of a comprehensive examination. She should be aged from 18 to 35 years old while having her own healthy child. Her appearance should not have pronounced inherited defects. Without the written consent of the spouse, it is impossible to become a surrogate mother.
Cost in Ukraine: Surrogacy at an Affordable Price
A couple seeking help from a surrogate mother needs to understand that a surrogacy program will require significant effort and material costs. This includes the following main medical procedures and related actions, entailing financial expenditures:
- tests and examinations;
- IVF protocol, including required medications;
- transport and housing support for a surrogate mother;
- medical support for the woman during pregnancy;
- if necessary, in-patient or out-patient treatment for pregnancy maintenance;
- vaginal delivery or caesarean section;
- legal support.
In Ukraine, surrogacy financial compensation is negotiated with a surrogate mother and legally documented. When discussing payment for the services, it is required to cover the following cases:
- complete success of the program;
- failures in an IVF protocol or miscarriage caused by medical reasons;
