Wearable textiles meets medical devices company - HealthWatch - will be expanding its products into India through a new distribution deal with Maestros, an Indian medical diagnostic equipment and services company.
The products, MasterCaution and hWear, provide ECG (electrocardiography) monitoring through electrode technology embedded in the clothing material, which keeps tab on the electrical activity of the heart.
The results of the monitoring can be transmitted to the wearer’s smartphone via Bluetooth. The products are CE and FDA approved. Maestros will now be HealthWatch’s distributors in the Indian market.
“We examined many technology leaders in the field of telemonitoring and were impressed by Maestros’ vast cardiology expertise and market presence in India,” said Uri Amir, CEO of HealthWatch in a statement. “We are excited to start offering our products in this important market and to bring peace of mind to the Indian consumer.”
HealthWatch says that its technology provides real-time alerts through mobile and cloud communications that allows the wearer to monitor their cardiac activity and spot any issues that may arise such as respiratory abnormalities, arrhythmias, or ischemia.
The company goes on to explain that its products can serve a wide variety of patients including hospitalized patients, those in homecare, heart attack survivors, or just someone keen to look after their heart health.
The “smart garments” will be on display at a live action demo at Maestros’ booth during the Medical Fair Exhibition and Conference at the Mumbai Convention & Exhibition Center this week.
