StartUp Health has received a $500,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). The grant money will be used to educate healthcare startups and to help improve both the wellness and health of those living in under-served communities.
StartUp Health is a global startup platform that accelerates digital health and wellness innovation.
The new StartUp Health Education Program for Entrepreneurs will be launched in stages over a two year period. It will provide a scalable platform that will aid in educating emerging health technology entrepreneurs on how to both accelerate and scale their businesses by concentrating on markets that do not have early access to these types of healthcare technologies.
The program will set up educational tools and an expert network that will make it simpler for digital health entrepreneurs to create pilot programs in under-served communities. It will also help them to produce both products and services to meet the individual needs of those communities.

StartUp Health will bring innovation to the providers and patients who are too often overlooked in product and customer development strategies,” said Paul Tarini, Senior Program Officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. “This program will create a road map for how health entrepreneurs can connect with under-served communities.”
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation focuses on giving funds to pressing health and health care issues facing our country. It is the nation’s largest philanthropy that is devoted exclusively to health and health care.
