DataMotion Hires New HIT Strategist to Develop Long-Term Healthcare Strategy

DataMotion has hired former Allscripts community strategist, Andrew Nieto, as its new health IT (HIT) strategist.

Nieto will be tasked with three main priorities: expanding DataMotion Direct, giving DataMotion a greater presence as a health information service provider (HISP) and developing DataMotion's long-term strategy.

Nieto is the latest addition to DataMotion's expanding management team. Other hires include Hugh Gilenson as director of business development - healthcare, and Shane Kielmeyer as director of healthcare solutions sales.

CEO Bob Bales says expanding into healthcare was a logical move for DataMotion. For instance, DataMotion Direct, which works to provide solutions for the Direct Project, was a natural extension of its secure messaging services.

"Bringing Andrew on board is the latest example of our unwavering commitment to investing in the leadership, technology and resources required to bring secure and compliant data delivery to healthcare providers of all sizes," said Bales.

Before starting at Allscripts, Nieto cofounded eMed Group, LLC, a company that helped healthcare providers to deploy their electronic medical record (EMR) solutions. Prior to that, he worked as a product manager at Centric Health Finance. His responsibilities at Centric included helping providers with systems integration, data processing, technical readiness and EMR training.

"I joined DataMotion because it is the only company with the 'DNA' and experience to bring the Direct Project to fruition," Nieto stated. "It's secure messaging solution is the best in the industry and will quickly become the powerful engine that makes the Direct Project run securely, reliably and efficiently."

DataMotion entered the healthcare market in October 2012, leveraging its cloud-based delivery platform when it launched DataMotion Direct. The secure messaging platform helps organizations to become compliant with Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements.

"DataMotion has both an established core business and rapidly growing marketshare in healthcare," Bales explained. "With this expanded management team, we're adding leadership that has helped many technology and healthcare companies successfully implement their strategies."
