Medical Alarm Concepts Now Marketing Services in Ireland

Today, Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc., revealed it will partner with Smart Monitoring of Dublin, Ireland, to market and offer monitoring services for the company's MediPendant personal medical alarm throughout Ireland.

Smart Monitoring is a provider of alarm monitoring operations.

Medical Alarm Concepts said in a statement that it is “beginning to realize considerable success in expanding distribution outside of the United States.” The company recently began shipments to a strategic marketing partner in Denmark, and is currently in negotiations with additional distribution partners in several other countries.

"Our second generation personal medical alarm provides the user with voice prompts upon activation,” added Ronnie Adams, Smart Monitoring’s CEO. “When one of our customers has an emergency and presses the button on our MediPendant, the unit provides voice prompts in their native language to reassure the user that the device has been activated and that help is on the way.”

Think how comforting that would be if you were in another country and needed medical help immediately.  “With many other medical alarms, if the user is not in close proximity to the immovable base station, the user has no way of knowing if the device is activated and if someone is coming to help them,” Adams added. “This is a very scary proposition for many users of these first-generation medical alarms, but absolutely not an issue for the MediPendant users."

A lot is going on in Ireland these days and a new app for Android and iPhone users from Mesh Trading of Belfast was launched that allows travelers in foreign countries to send immediate text messages to emergency officials in their language.

Called Distress Signal, the app currently works in the U.K., Ireland, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, the Philippines and Iceland, and will made available in the U.S. and Europe as soon as each country updates its emergency SMS service.
