AGNITY HealthCare Unveils the APTUS Platform

AGNITY Healthcare has announced the launch of its APTUS platform facilitating Mobile Clinical Unified Communications (MCUC) for healthcare providers.

A communications technology solution platform for healthcare, APTUS seeks to bring together existing but isolated communications and healthcare IT infrastructure investments to enable caregivers to get the right information, to the right people at the right time. According to various studies that have been conducted, doing so saves time, money and lives.

“Solutions enabled by the APTUS Platform will essentially extend clinicians’ and caregivers’ reach by creating a virtual point of care to wherever they are. The results will have a direct impact on healthcare cost, productivity and outcomes by getting the right information to the right people at the right time,” expressed Ken Epps, president of AGNITY HealthCare. “It is a one of a kind technology solution for the market and our initial customers are already witnessing results.”

The APTUS platform leverages existing hospital and clinical infrastructure to enable the convergence of unified communications (paging, voice, video, presence, location, alerts and other notifications) with real- time mobile access to clinical information (EMR, CPOE, PACs, etc.) on widely used smart phones and tablet devices, as it is a unique solution in the market today to bridge the communications and health IT divide. Reaching over 70 percent and growing, the doctor-patient relationship is set to revolutionize with smartphone penetration among healthcare professionals.

In May 2010, the company announced that in addition to expanding its business units it has also hired three new members to the AGNITY executive team. AGNITY appointed Silicon Valley veteran Joseph Powers as the company's Chief Financial Officer. Joining him are George Georgiou and Milind Sakalkale, as AGNITY's new Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Vice President of Sales. These leadership additions came shortly after the expansion of AGNITY's Services business unit and launch of AGNITY Healthcare.
