Financing Secured for Assay Depot's Pharmaceutical Research Platform

Private investors have helped Assay Depot raise $1.7 million, allowing for expansion on the company’s cloud-based pharmaceutical research platform, according to an announcement.

“We’ve brought together the capabilities of the most popular consumer websites to create a web-based research platform that helps scientists innovate,” said Kevin Lustig President and Chief Executive Officer of Assay Depot, in a release. “Our mission is to empower scientists by giving them two capabilities: the ability to custom create and purchase any research service, and the ability to communicate with experts in any research area.”

A public marketplace at www.assaydepot.com is included in Assay Depot’s research platform along with a number of private marketplaces also known as Contract Research Exchanges or CRXs. A Backoffice at http://backoffice.assaydepot.com where vendors respond to requests and manage orders is also included in Assay Depot’s research platform. All research services needed to run a drug program from the initial concept to human clinical trials are included by the public marketplace which was launched in 2008. Online tools which allow a pharmaceutical company to efficiently manage its worldwide network of internal and external research providers are also included by the private marketplaces.

In a release, Jack Giarraputo, a well-known Hollywood film producer and Assay Depot investor said, “We’ve taken the best features from Amazon, Yelp and Facebook and built a unique Web 2.0 platform for the pharmaceutical industry. Making the drug research process dramatically more efficient could make the difference in our fight against cancer, Alzheimer’s and other diseases. This company can truly change the world.”

Research vendors will be now able to market their services in a new and powerful way to laboratory researchers, sourcing managers and procurement specialists through the Assay Depot platform.

According to Corey Jacklin, who is the Vice President of Business Development for Assay Depot, the company’s rapidly growing vendor network has already seen registrations from over 540 research providers. Vendors can easily connect with researchers from around the globe with Assay Depot.
