Mosaic Telecom Introduces Femtocells Based on 3GPP Release 9 Open Standard


Feb 25, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Mosaic Telecom, a regional US operator serving rural Wisconsin, is now providing its customers with femtocells based on the 3GPP Release 9 open standard.

In a release dated Feb. 17, the Company said the Mosaic Home Cell is provided by Ubiquisys, the developer of 3G and LTE small cells, as part of a Nokia Siemens Networks femtocell solution. Mosaic Telecom is the first operator to deploy femtocells in AWS spectrum (UMTS Band IV). After three successive vendors were unable to provide a solution, Ubiquisys stepped-in and delivered.

Our femtocell solution is ideal for customers in rural locations, especially when combined with our LTE backhaul solution.
