MyMedicalRecords Patents Provided to Fairway Physicians Insurance Company

MMR Global will be providing Fairway Physicians Insurance Company with the MyMedical Records, Inc. Patent Portfolio. With this, Fairway will be able to offer hospital malpractice insurance clients a prepaid license to use it, which includes nearly 400 claims and additional applications.

Fairway, a doctor-owned insurance company, has sold medical malpractice insurance nationwide. It now offers a program where it will prepay MMR for a license to the MMR Patent Portfolio, which its hospital malpractice insurance clients can then use.

This helps protect its clients with better ease and efficiency than ever before.

Furthermore, MMR has patents and pending applications in countries such as Australia, Japan, Canada and several European nations. As such, it’s likely that more customers will soon gain access to the MMR Patent Portfolio as well, should it work well with Fairway.

"We are committed to providing the best customer service to our hospital clients and protecting them against all known risks,” said David Thorson, CEO at Fairway. “We have reviewed the MMR Patent Portfolio and believe the patents to be a potentially material risk to our hospital clients. By paying license fees on behalf of our insureds we eliminate that risk."

This should prove very helpful to Fairway’s clients, especially given the many patents that MMR has available. By making them more readily available, hospitals can better help their patients and protect their doctors, which tends to help everyone.

We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this, and if more companies than Fairway will get involved, but it’s a nice place to start.
