TVR Communications Teams with Tely Labs

TVR Communications, a provider of interactive patient services in the United States, has signed a partnership deal with Tely Labs, a provider of entertainment and communications systems.

In accordance with this new collaborative effort, TVRC can expand its patient interactive services to include in-room video calling using the Skype service over television via Tely Labs’ telyHD video calling system.

Tely Labs launched its telyHD Video calling system at the CES event, recently taking place in Las Vegas. This all-in-one solution is noted to provide friends and family with the ability to connect face-to-face with patients from any Skype-enabled device. Unlike traditional computer-based web cameras, telyHD is designed to accommodate entire rooms with a wide-angle camera that zooms, pans and tilts to capture a room and all its participants.

"We are very excited about our partnership with Tely Labs and what it means for our clients," said Frank Forte, vice president of Business Development for TVRC said in a press release.

"We can now offer a high-definition video calling solution which will greatly enhance both the patient-care experience and their overall well-being. telyHD video calling allows patients to interact with anyone, anytime, anywhere, which enables patients a new way to communicate with those who matter most," Forte added.

TVRC said it will first deploy the telyHD video calling solution in hospital newborn facilities, so proud new parents can instantly introduce their newborns to loved ones anywhere in the world.

Anyone with Skype can receive a telyHD video call, whether using Skype on a computer, tablet or smartphone.

"We are extremely pleased that one of telyHD's first partnerships is with TVRC, a pioneer in interactive patient care technology," Sreekanth Ravi, chief executive officer of Silicon Valley-based Tely Labs noted in his statement.

"Beyond the consumer living room, the hospital room is exactly the type of setting in which telyHD can showcase the power of video calling and the ways in which it can enhance the lives of those using it," Ravi added.

In related news, HealthTechZone reported that Tely Labs has been named an International CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for telyHD.
