Catalyst Rx Selected by Mercer to Participate in Pharmacy Collective Program


Human resource consulting firm, Mercer, announced that it selected Catalyst Rx, a program through Catalyst Health Solutions, Inc., to participate in the Mercer Pharmacy Collective, which would allow them to become a preferred provider of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services.

Employees that are current members of the Mercer Pharmacy Collective will now have the chance to take advantage of the benefits that Catalyst Rx has to offer, as long as they are members of the pharmacy collective program through Mercer.

Catalyst Health Solutions, Inc., who has had a rough year, are claiming to still have a 98 percent retention rate saying that the company is “built on strong, innovative principles in the management of prescription drug benefits and provides an unbiased, client-centered philosophy.” The company goes on to say that its subsidiary, Catalyst Rx, is one of the largest providers of pharmacy benefit management services.

Catalyst Rx, founded in 1994, is a full-service pharmacy benefit management company, who said its made goal is to work on lowering pharmacy costs. “Our commitment to innovation, efficiency and superior service helps our clients balance the management of pharmacy costs with quality of care,” said Catalyst Rx.

The company has more than 18 million members located throughout the United States and in Puerto Rico; with plans to continue expanding its area coverage. The company offers flexible plans, extensive reporting capabilities, interactive customer website, nationwide pharmacy network, educational programs, and data analysis. Catalyst Rx COO said he is happy to be joining Mercer’s Pharmacy Collective.

Bates said that this relationship would help the company continue to grow throughout the country. “Being chosen to participate opens up a new world of opportunity for our business and we are excited to put our proven cost management and clinical strategies to work for these employers,” said Bates.

The company is working on integrating Catalyst Rx into all of Mercer’s programs to allow for businesses to begin offering the additional services as soon as possible.
