Enterasys Networks Keeps Expanding in the Healthcare Market

Enterasys Networks has revealed that in order to grow its footprint within the healthcare industry it will be exhibiting some of its latest products and services at the Venetian Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas until tomorrow. The company will be participating in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Conference and Exhibition (HIMSS 2012) to display its new OneFabric Edge architecture technology.

Enterasys Networks, a Siemens Enterprise Communications Company, is a global provider of wired and wireless network infrastructure and security solutions. According to the company, it “enables organizations to drive down IT costs while improving business productivity and efficiently through a unique combination of automation, visibility, and control capabilities.” The company has seen significant growth in its healthcare clients recently with more than 300 people signing up to use the network’s services.

“Our networking solutions enable healthcare organizations to dramatically improve both the caregiver and patient experiences in an environment of ever-reduced IT budgets,” said Bob Nilsson, director of Healthcare Solutions Marketing at Enterasys Networks. “Healthcare is a top vertical market for Enterasys and our customers benefit immensely from our reliable, easy-to-manage OneFabric framework.”

The OpenScape Health Station from Siemens Enterprise Communications delivers a variety of applications that have been personalized to work with both patients and physicians. The new program provides patients with access to games, music, the Internet and other forms of content that will get delivered directly to their room’s bedside table.

Physicians can use the technology to add notes to files, sign-in to the facility using a single swipe and help manage the patients and their data through an administrative tool designed for working with medications and management. This brand-new technology is not only extremely effective for patients who are in need of virtual stimulation and entertainment, but is also a low cost way of maintaining all patients within a facilities needs without having to add on additional staff members.

“Enterasys Networks provides the stable and easy-to-manage network environment for our clinical workflows that include McKesson Horizon Clinicals, Pyxis Carefusion Speciman Collection & Verification, Alaris Smart Pumps, AMCOM Paging and Smart Consoles, Masimo Pulse Oximetry & Patient Safety Net Remote Monitoring, and many others,” Ernie McKinley, CIO of the University Medical Center in Southern Nevada and the Children’s Hospital of Nevada concluded.

Enterasys Networks can be found at HIMSS at booth # 3265.
