iSirona's Device Integration Software Used to Automatically Send Patient Data from Stryker Bed to EMR

Panama City, FL, May 19, 2011 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- iSirona(R), a provider of simplified solutions for medical device integration, today announced that it successfully demonstrated the industry's most flexible medical device connectivity solution at the Vision User Group conference held April 16 - 20 in Salt Lake City. iSirona used its software-based integration technology to automatically upload patient vitals data from a Stryker Bed InTouch 2141 and a Fukuda Denshi DS-7300 bedside monitor. That data then was verified using iSirona's DataAuthenticator prior to being uploaded into the Siemens Clinical Suite.

"This demonstration showcased how device connectivity is advancing healthcare best practices," says iSirona CEO Dave Dyell. "For example, the data collected by the Stryker InTouch smart bed automatically collects critical data that clinicians need. But when a hospital takes the process to the next level by implementing an integration solution such as iSirona's, that data can be in the electronic medical record much more quickly, which improves both patient care and patient safety." iSirona's technology is centered around DeviceConX, a vendor-neutral software solution that can integrate patient data from any device from any manufacturer--including devices with their own gateways--and deliver the data to any clinical information system. For standalone devices, iSirona provides connectivity solutions, supporting both bedside and mobile clinical workflows.

About iSirona Panama City, Florida-based iSirona helps clinicians make more informed decisions about patients by providing an easy to use approach to medical device integration. Using iSirona's software solution, hospitals can connect virtually any medical device to their CIS, providing clinicians with faster access to more accurate patient information.
