CardioNet Intros Next Generation Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry Device

CardioNet, Inc., a premier wireless medical technology company with a current focus on the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac arrhythmias, has just unveiled its next generation Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry device.

The new device will enable physicians to offer the product in their offices, shortening the time to patient activation. Incorporating instructional videos combined with the recent launch of an online tutorial, the device will further improve the patient experience.

Officials said that the product’s flexible design will facilitate the seamless introduction of planned future enhancements.

In a release, Joseph Capper, President and Chief Executive Officer of CardioNet, commented, "The launch of this state-of-the-art system is further evidence of our commitment to advancing cardiac monitoring solutions to meet the evolving needs of physicians and their patients. The introduction of this new device enhances our leadership position in cardiac monitoring with capabilities to improve the patient experience and reduce costs.”

The cost to manufacture this product is approximately one-third less compared to the company’s current system.

CardioNet is a leading provider of ambulatory, continuous, real-time outpatient management solutions for monitoring relevant and timely clinical information regarding an individual's health. CardioNet's initial efforts are focused on the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac arrhythmias, or heart rhythm disorders, with a solution that it markets as Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry.

In related news, CardioNet, Inc. has recently announced the resignation of Randy Thurman as Chairman of the Board of Directors and appointment of Board member Kirk Gorman to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
