Exciton Technologies announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Medical Mart to distribute the company’s exsalt SD7 Wound Dressing throughout Canada.

In a release, Rod Precht, President and Founder of Exciton Technologies Inc, said, “We are pleased to be offering a Canadian made product through a successful Canadian distribution company. Medical Mart is the ideal partner to distribute our flagship product incorporating Exciton’s platform silver technology.”

The exsalt SD7 Wound Dressing can be used on partial and full thickness wounds such as decubitus ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, first and second degree burns, grafts and donor sites, and other acute or chronic wounds. 

Also, the exsalt SD7 maintains its broad spectrum antimicrobial activity for up to seven days. Silver has always been a good antimicrobial product.

It was revealed that this arrangement will help Exciton to expand the availability of its antimicrobial silver wound dressing across the entire Canadian healthcare system. It is expected to encompass home health, primary care and emergency units.

Robert J West, Executive Vice President of Medical Mart, remarked that this partnership with Exciton was suitable for market conditions prevailing now and was also ideal to introduce a product with enhanced features.
