Looking to facilitate improved communication between patients at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY and health care professionals,
GetWellNetwork has
entered into a collaboration with
EXTENSION. With this, the hospital can now provide better service and care more efficiently.
Enabling nursing workflows that keep nurses informed and connected to their patients at all times via the Cisco wireless device, the integration to EXTENSION keeps the GetWellNetwork system connected to the right nurse and staff member. GetWellNetwork uses the HL7 protocol to enable integration through a new systems interface, states the company.
GetWellNetwork is a provider of Interactive Patient Care solutions. Interactive Patient Care is first felt by patients, then measured through improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, quality improvements, and cost savings/avoidance.
“By working with EXTENSION, we’re able to send actionable patient information right to the attending nurse and staff at Norton Brownsboro Hospital,” said Robin Cavanaugh, CTO, GetWellNetwork, Inc. “This integration effort is also noteworthy because it is standards-based, which means that we can implement this for any of our client hospitals who want to take the next level of patient engagement.”
By automating notifications using text messages, phone calls, and emails, EXTENSION specializes in solutions that turn Cisco Unified Communications into a clinical workflow tool. It also allows nurses to acknowledge the notification directly from his/her phone and escalate the issue when needed. When patients have not completed important education videos or other service requests, the GetWellNetwork system now sends alerts that inform nurses through this integration effort, the company has announced.
Recently, the company
announced that Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas is the latest among premier children's hospitals in the U.S. to deploy the company's pediatric solution called GetWell Town. Cook Children's is implementing GetWell Town in 244 beds in its facility, including the Emergency Department to help short-term patients as well. Early results show patients and/or family members are viewing education materials more than once.
