A recent memorandum of understanding between
CSC e-Governance Services India and
Cisco is allowing both organizations to make education and health care solutions available and promote social inclusion through CSCs across India.
Pivately owned CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. is established to catalyze and accelerate the delivery of various eGovernance services through the CSC framework.
Cisco is experienced in working with governments and communities all across the world and has continuously delivered its vision for Smart+Connected Communities. The company believes that by delivering high-quality services to rural areas it can aid India to produce more inclusive and balanced growth.
This initiative will be aided by the Cisco Remote Education Centre, a unique education platform hosted in the cloud boasting the ability to support 30,000 simultaneous classes. This platform is powered by Cisco WebEx on-demand collaboration solution, and brings the teacher, along with e-content, virtually to remote classrooms.
The pilots in few states have already been successful and now more areas will be covered. All the health care services will be offered through the Cisco HealthPresence extended reach solution. This desktop-based telemedicine solution has immense potential in providing access to high-quality health care across India.
According to Cisco, holistic transformation of the educational system is easily enabled by collaborative technologies that allow individuals to create, adapt and share content and best practices.
Through this project, Cisco will create a knowledge economy by imparting vocational training to rural youth and preparing students in India to become members of the global workforce.
“Education and health care are fundamentally collaborative, interactive endeavors, critical to the success of future generations,” said John Chambers, chairman and CEO, Cisco. “It’s an honor to collaborate with the Department of Information Technology and help deliver transformational education and health care services to the citizens of India. We believe communities, cities, countries and individual lives can be transformed by providing access to socially, economically and environmentally sustainable solutions.”
