Healthcare Technology and News: The New App 'Body & Mind Connection' Helps People Share Benefits of Healthier Lifestyle

For all those people who want to live healthier lives, B Healthy U's "Body & Mind Connection," a new application for the iPhone has been launched. The new application is first of its kind and is available for download in Apple's App Store.

By showing how various lifestyle factors interact with one another, the application helps people live healthier lifestyles.  Daily diet and exercise tips from world-class experts, including Dr. David Katz, director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center and Joe Decker, recognized as "The World's Fittest Man" after breaking the Guinness World Records 24-Hour Physical Fitness Challenge in 2000, is offered by the program.

The user, each day, will be asked by the app to rate, on a scale of one to five, how they have done on a set of specific lifestyle factors: diet, exercise, sleep, hunger, energy, mood, stress and weight.

For many people lack of sleep can wreak havoc with their appetites and for others eating highly processed foods can create uncontrollable hunger, which may lead to weight gain. Through the use of color-coded graphs offered in the app, a person can become aware of these relationships and accordingly can adjust their lifestyle to better match their health and fitness goals. The user receives a printable diploma, after using the app daily for two weeks and after one month they receive a graduate degree.

"I created this app because I wanted to share the benefits that come with a healthier lifestyle," Mitzi Perdue, Founder of B Healthy U, said. "What you eat, how you exercise and how well you sleep can have powerful and unexpected consequences on other aspects of your life. It takes no more than 60 seconds each day to rate these lifestyle factors and, as a result, it can truly change your life."

The daily diet and exercise recommendation is one of the unique features of the application. Dr. David Katz, a world authority in nutrition and weight management who has studied thousands of diets offers the diet information.

Joe Decker, an ultra-endurance power athlete, fitness trainer and syndicated columnist who has helped thousands of people get into shape and lose weight provides the relevant exercise tips. As Founder of Healthy U of Delmarva, a community lifestyle improvement effort on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Mitzi Perdue also has spoken with thousands of people and seen the joy they have felt when they've lost weight, reclaimed their energy, are able to sleep well or have had their moods improve.

In related healthcare news, Natrol, Inc., a premier marketer, manufacturer, and distributor of nationally branded nutritional products, has introduced three new nutritional supplements -- Natrol MaquiBerry, Natrol Resveratrol Diet, and Natrol Resveratrol Weekend Cleanse -- with superfruit antioxidant capacity.
