Technological innovations are enhancing the life of an average human being in many ways, and healthcare is one of them. Leveraging the advanced technological products and solutions, users can enjoy much healthier and happier lives.
MyCare, an online destination that connects families to trustworthy and qualified caregivers, has announced that it has been selected to join the 2012 Accelerator Program of Rock Health, a team of dedicated individuals that has been striving to boost innovative products and solutions in the interactive health space. With an aim to assist families with various disabilities and people who need home care, MyCare offers an online market place to provide the families in need with appropriate caregivers such as registered nurses, physical therapists and non medical home health aides.
As a part of the 2012 Accelerator Program of Rock Health, MyCare has been selected along with 14 other health technology companies, all of which will receive a startup grant and mentorship from well known healthcare institutions, such as the Mayo Clinic and Harvard Medical School. With support from these medical institutions, MyCare will be able to offer its contribution towards the home caregiving market in an effective manner.
Leveraging its enhanced Web-based platform, MyCare provides affordable home care to a large number of families. John Vejnoska, chief executive officer of the company, had loved ones suffering from ALS and Alzheimer's, and found it difficult to find a qualified and efficient caregiver for them. It prompted him to establish the company for addressing the problems and inefficiencies associated with finding a suitable caregiver. The MyCare platform offers an extensive database of qualified caregivers in their area based upon likes, hobbies, personality, and certifications. On the basis of these qualities and criterion, the families can simply find the right caregiver for them, at much lower prices than traditional brick-and-mortar agencies.
The intensive Accelerator Program by Rock Health will begin this month, and will last for duration of five months. During the third quarter of 2012, MyCare and other participants of this program will offer a demo to attract funding by a number of well known investors from the Silicon Valley.
In November 2011, Rock Health announced a new sponsorship with UnitedHealth Group, a diversified health and well-being company, to support and advance technology innovation in health care. Under the partnership, UnitedHealth Group was supposed to engage in workshops and mentor participants selected for Rock Health's five-month incubator program.
