CGI Awarded Four Year Contract Renewal with British Columbia Ministry of Health


CGI Group Inc., a provider of information technology and business process services, recently was awarded a contract extension with Ministry of Health in British Columbia to provide IT support on over 100 critical applications used by health professionals, health administrators and patients.

Ministry of Health in British Columbia focuses on ensuring the quality, appropriateness, and timeliness of health services to over four million British Columbians.

This four-year extension for $15 million builds on an existing five-year agreement. Under this extended agreement, CGI said it will continue to provide 24/7 service to mission critical applications, including those that support core services provided by the Ministry in the areas of patient safety, mental health, public health and vital statistics. The agreement will also focus on a wide range of technology services including application and systems development, architecture consulting, project management and infrastructure planning.

CGI official said that by leveraging its local delivery model the company will deliver this work from its Victoria office.

The company recently announced that U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command Global Combat Support Systems—Marine Corps Logistics Information Systems Office has awarded CGI Federal Inc., a wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. a contract renewal worth US$20.16 million over a five year period to provide post-deployment software support for the Storage Retrieval Automated Tracking Integrated System (STRATIS).
