Top Medical Facility Achieves Communication Success with Panasonic's Attune Wireless Audio System

Panasonic System Networks Company of America, an American subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation and provider of solutions for communication, collaboration, security and productivity, recently introduced Panasonic Attune wireless audio system. In a press release, Panasonic claimed that in a short span of time, the system has proved to be a valuable instrument for medical professionals.

According to its maker, Attune wireless audio system from Panasonic has been deployed at University of California San Francisco's (UCSF) Cardiac Catheterization EP Lab – one of the country's top tier medical facilities. The audio system that provides the convenience of hands-free communication, enabled better communication between physicians, the clinical team and lab operators, the company claimed.

The Attune wireless headset system comes with its unidirectional microphone. This allows the doctor, engaged in a procedure involving several participants, to concentrate on the task at hand, without having to look up and speak with an assistant or shout across a room. The audio system allows the doctor to maintain the normal tone of voice and converse with as many as 32 participants.

Jon Christ, system sales manager at Muzak, the supporting Panasonic dealer, maintained that the Attune wireless audio system facilitates a more efficient and harmonious environment. “The medical team can talk in normal voice tones and no one is raising their voice. The clarity and intelligibility of the audio is so good, instructions and patient monitoring information does not have to be repeated,” Christ noted in a statement.

Attune wireless headset system replaces a a wired belt-pack system that has been in use in Cath lab previously. According to the hospital authority, the belt-pack was too bulky and the wires to the headset often became tangled in the staff’s clothing or with the medical equipment. The new system comes with all the benefits of a lightweight wireless headset.

Additional benefits of the Attune wireless audio system for this application include a battery life of up to 25 hours in listen mode and eight hours in talk mode, while only requiring a maximum of four hours to charge. The system also features versatile system programming and ease of operation and tops it with the reliability and reputation of the Panasonic brand name.

The success of the Attune wireless audio system at UCSF Medical Center led two additional Catheterization Lab clinics to consider the installation of the similar audio system at their facilities.

Panasonic System Networks Company of America reportedly demonstrated its extensive suite of IP telephony solutions at AstriCon which took place at the Westin Westminster in Denver, Colorado, October 25-27.
