Partnership Between Accenture and SalesForce Could Improve Healthcare Patient Experiences

Global management consulting and technology services outsourcing company Accenture is on course to deliver a suite of tools designed to improve patient engagement through the use of cloud, social and mobile technology.

Now, the company has announced that it has joined forces with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software provider Salesforce to develop the Accenture Connected Physician Solution platform. The companies hope that this platform will help life sciences companies easily transition from a product orientation phase to direct patient outcomes.

“Remarkable changes are taking place today that are reshaping the life sciences landscape, and the entire industry is beginning to galvanize around delivering better patient outcomes in cost-effective ways,” says Accenture's global industry managing director for Life Sciences practice Anne O'Ridoran. “Cloud platforms like Salesforce are providing an opportunity to link companies, physicians and patients in an ecosystem dedicated to improving health results.” Salesforce is already widely used to keep track of individual customers and their support history, and pairing the same organizational technology with patient management gives doctors the tools needed to collaborate in real time.

Additionally, the Accenture Connected Physician Solution fully supports almost all mobile platforms, which grants healthcare professionals access to patient information or clinical reference documents at a moment's notice. Because the information is tied to a specific patient, customer loyalty can be quickly built while simultaneously collecting the data needed to serve patients better.

Accenture's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) architecture is also designed to help medical centers either enhance or replace their legacy network support systems from physical hardware solutions to cloud-based solutions. This helps not only reduce operating expenses as well as necessary IT expertise, but also helps to enhance data transfer speeds for quicker deliveries, and improved customer experiences. Accenture's Perfect Consumer Engagement service will also help leverage social media to collect customer engagement data with as little hassle as possible.
