TigerText to Provide Boston Children's Hospital with Secure Messaging Platform

Real-time communications allows organizations to deal with situations as they happen so they can be resolved before they become much bigger. While every organization values the information they share with their employees, a hospital has an environment in which everyone can appreciate the critical nature of their communication. Having a platform in place to accelerate staff communication and work flows delivers better care for patients and a more efficient facility for the employees. One of the nation's most recognized pediatric hospitals, Boston Children’s Hospital, has chosen TigerText as its secure messaging platform for its entire facility in order to address these issues.

The hospital selected TigerText after a rigorous review of the company and the technology it provides. Currently more than 4,000 facilities rely on its solutions to address security needs, BYOD policies, and message restrictions in the enterprise with secure real-time messaging. This includes meeting regulatory compliances such as Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and HITECH, which is required by the government in the healthcare industry.

"By streamlining communication in the workplace and helping enterprises save money through faster response times and better compliance with TigerText, nurses and clinicians can spend more time focusing on the needs of patients and their families," said Brad Brooks, TigerText co-founder and CEO.

Boston Children’s Hospital is an organization with approximately 25,000 inpatient admissions each year and more than 557,620 visits annually. It has 40 clinical departments and 228 specialized clinical programs offering a complete range of health care services, and having a secure communications solution is essential for the organization.

The TigerText secure messaging app allows clinicians to streamline communication, improve clinical workflows, and provide better care to patients. The service is delivered with its HIPAA-compliant application, secure messaging platform and easy-to-use interface so everyone in the organization can use it with minimal effort. It supports network-wide deployments with an Active Directory/LDAP integration to take advantage of existing user management systems.

"With the number of patients we see and the amount of clinicians on-staff, we needed a fully secure, enterprise-class solution that would help us improve communication and expedite our response times,” said Dr. Michael Docktor, Director of Clinical Mobile Solutions at Boston Children’s Hospital. “TigerText met our stringent requirements, and it supports our ability to quickly send communication via a priority channel, but with the added peace of mind that everything we communicate, PHI in particular, is safe and secure."
