3Pound Health Launches a New Patient-clinician Engagement Platform

The healthcare industry not only generates massive amounts of data, but it also has at its disposal large volumes of research that can be used with new big data analytics solutions to mine for information that might have escaped researchers in the past. Big data solutions are giving healthcare providers new methodologies for providing better healthcare and patient clinician engagement. By introducing new platforms in which more data can be acquired and analyzed, physicians can make this information readily available for their peers in research, which in the long run benefits everyone.

The Euco platform is designed by 3Pound Health for that very reason. According to 3Pound Health, a company that supports complete health through peer connection, community groups, and coaching, Euco is a first of its kind software-based communication platform using an innovative technology designed to improve clinician and patient interaction.

By incorporating the findings from years of medical research and experiences, Euco has developed two primary components in alignment with published practices as 3Pound Health continues to develop scientifically based weight loss management with support and guidance.

The first component is the Euco Mobile App. By making the technology available on mobile devices patients can access the information they need at all times. Because weight loss regimens greatly depend on support, this application allows the individuals going through these plans a comprehensive view of their progress. Additionally the application allows them to review the plans that have been customized with their clinicians and receive motivation and focus from other members while they log their behaviors and actions on a secure platform.

The second component is the Euco Insight coaching dashboard, which provides an in-depth engagement solution with clinicians. With this platform clinicians are able to access the content anytime and anywhere to determine patient engagement level and progress. Based on these determinations they can set up face-to-face patient meetings as well as gain other valuable insights which can improve the overall practice of the organization. The progress is tracked through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform in nutrition, activity, measurements, labs, and medications.

"There are many consumer-oriented weight loss apps that offer individual calorie consumption and activity tracking, but what sets Euco apart is the interaction with and active plan management by the clinician. With Euco, I am able to track and coach individual patient progress like never before, as well as assess the performance of aggregated patient data across my entire practice. Better yet, I can do that at a time and place most convenient for me, as the Insight coaching dashboard is always available," said Dr. Wendy Scinta, chief medical officer and advisory board member for 3Pound Health.

The new platform has been used as a pilot program with 1000 patients and their clinicians in New York, Illinois and Michigan, and it is now launching nationwide.
