AudioEye and BrownIT Partner up to Bring Voice-driven Website Technology to Federal Healthcare IT

One of the greatest benefits of information and communications technology (ICT) is it can be adapted to allow individuals with disabilities to use it so they can be more independent and productive. Although this technology is important to all of us, the value it carries for someone that is hard of hearing, visually impaired or has a debilitating physical disability is infinitely more important because of all the possibilities it opens. To ensure everyone has access to electronic content, Section 508 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Communications & Video Accessibility Act (CVAA) were passed into law by the US government. They require website owners and publishers to make their presence accessible to everyone, thus guaranteeing we all have access.

BrownIT, a healthcare IT service provider that designs, builds, and supports large, mission-critical applications, databases, and networks, specializing in government health contracts has partnered up with AudioEye to provide the federal government healthcare IT sector the technology for accelerating the adoption of Internet accessibility mandates for the disabled.

The solutions AudioEye provides are designed to improve the mobility, usability and accessibility of all Internet-based content using patented architecture technology to deliver what in essence is the audio equivalent of a website. This platform allows hearing-impaired individuals to navigate, use, interact and transact on websites without using a monitor or mouse.

This browser agnostic application is a cross-platform solution that allows the end user to access the most widely used web browsers in the market such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari regardless of the operating system.

"The partnership with BrownIT represents an exciting venture for AudioEye in a key market vertical. Our product is perfectly suited for the federal government healthcare IT sector, and we see no better access into that market than through teaming relationships with experienced companies like BrownIT," said Paul Arena, Executive Chairman of AudioEye, Inc.

The AudioEye software uses a proprietary automated process to manage, publish, and present  content generated from original source website and materials in an accessible audio-based hierarchy and navigation. When there is text the software publishes audio and if the content is video it publishes captioning and transcription.
