Alorica Launches PREEMPT to Support At-risk Members for Healthcare Providers

The healthcare industry is going through a revolution by empowering patients with information so they can take proactive measures regarding their health. While in the past the industry as a whole did very little to incorporate a holistic approach to healthcare, budgetary constraints and a more educated customer base is forcing healthcare providers to start providing better solutions. New services introduced by information and communications technology (ICT) is empowering patients and allowing developers to create innovative solutions. Alorica, provider of customer management outsourcing solutions, is offering a new care management platform called PREEMPT to identify and educate patients who are risk with a proactive risk management tool.

The PREEMPT platform is especially designed to lower the cost of intervention and treatment of at-risk patients. With this solution health insurance companies will be able to evaluate their members and identify if there are any risks and take a proactive stand in supporting them.

These at risk members are identified by using predictive analytics so the best course of prevention and care is implemented. They will be supported with education and resources to improve wellness and quality of life so catastrophic events and hospitalizations can be avoided.

As with virtually every medical condition, diagnosing the problem at an early stage not only improves the chances of the patients recuperating completely, but it dramatically reduces the amount of resources that will be needed to treat the condition at a later stage.

With the healthcare budget chewing up a larger percentage of the national GDP each passing year, the inefficiencies in the industry has to be reined in to make healthcare affordable to everyone. The PREEMPT platform is also able to identify areas in which organizations are wasteful by pinpointing behavioral, clinical and operational activities that add no value and are the result of waiting until a member gets sick to take action. This practice alone is responsible for more than half of the US healthcare budget annually, according to a Pricewaterhouse Coopers study.

"The increasingly competitive and costly healthcare landscape is leading health insurance agencies to look for ways to be proactive in keeping their members healthy. We are pleased to bring an innovative solution that is in great need to the healthcare industry by leveraging our healthcare experience, global footprint of delivery centers, big-data knowledge, predictive analytics and multi-channel communications platform," said Art DiBari, chief operating officer of Alorica.

Alorica provides customer management outsourcing solutions through the entire customer lifecycle around the world. The company delivers customer experience across all channels with BPO services for Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) sectors across all industries for Fortune 1000 companies. It employs more than 20,000 people in 40 domestic, nearshore and offshore customer management centers.
