DataMotion Lands Big Purchasing Agreement With GNYHA Services

DataMotion has scored a deal with GNYHA Services, a purchasing organization affiliated with Premier, Inc. GNYHA represents over 300 acute care hospitals and more than 1,500 healthcare-related facilities.

The agreement gives DataMotion the chance to market its file and e-mail encryption services to GNYHA's network of customers. "GNYHA Services' goal is to help our members find cost-effective data compliance solutions," said Jeffrey Ashkenase, who is senior VP of strategic contracting services for GNYHA Services.

"With its emphasis on ease-of-use and strong encryption, DataMotion is an important addition to our health technology contract portfolio."

DataMotion dove into the health IT market back in October 2012 when it launched its DataMotion Direct product to help physicians send and receive encrypted e-mails. Back in April, the company hired Andrew Nieto, former community strategist for Allscripts, to ramp up its health IT strategy.

GNYHA Services customers will be able to utilize DataMotion's SecureMail, SecureMail Gateway, SecureMail Automation, Secure File Transfer, SecureContact and DataMotion Direct at discounted rates. E-mail and file encryption are simple ways for healthcare organizations to meet HIPAA and HITECH requirements.

"Our email and file encryption solutions are especially well suited for healthcare organizations' need to send protected health information (PHI) securely," said DataMotion CEO Bob Bales. "Just as strong encryption is vital to protecting information, ease-of-use ensures our solutions are utilized."

With DataMotion products, healthcare providers get an optimized mobile experience without having to download an app because SecureMail solutions work within their existing e-mail client. Also, DataMotion's self-service tool enables providers to send imaging studies and other large files securely.

By going electronic, healthcare providers not only set themselves up for government incentives. They also slash costs related to printing, fax and overnight delivery.

Providers that are interested in SecureMail can try it for 15 days at no cost for up to five users.
