CareCloud and ZocDoc Unite to Give Physicians Improved IT Solutions

Whether the Affordable Care Act is funded for the long run or not, it will be introducing an influx of patients to a pool of physicians that are already strained. Healthcare facilities and private physicians are getting ready for an estimated 30 million new patients looking for health services. Since there is already a lack of physicians, experts agree the best way to deal with this problem is by using technology to manage the available resources more effectively. CareCloud, a provider of cloud-based practice management, electronic health records (EHR), and medical billing software and services, and ZocDoc, a service providing four million patients each month with doctor or dentist appointments online, have formed a partnership to integrate their services for providing healthcare professionals with improved IT solutions.

By integrating ZocDoc with CareCloud, patients will be able to make appointments through the ZocDoc site or its mobile applications to improve the access rate for patients and provide them with the care they need. Coordinating the available resources also lets the healthcare industry accept the flood of new patients with some degree of control.

The CareCloud platform provides a software solution that is easy to implement with a cloud-based practice management, EHR, and revenue cycle management for medical groups. More than 3,700 providers in 47 states supporting more than 5.5 million patients with over $2 billion in annualized accounts receivables on behalf of its revenue cycle management clients rely on the CareCloud system.

"Our partnership with ZocDoc exemplifies our strategy of opening our platform to work with the most innovative healthcare IT and non-healthcare companies alike to deliver practical, cloud-based solutions that enhance patient engagement and ultimately support the financial health of clients’ businesses," said Albert Santalo, CEO and Chairman of CareCloud.

ZocDoc is available in 1,900 cities, and covers 40 percent of the U.S. population with a free service that is available on Android and iOS devices in English and Spanish. To date more than 1,000 different types of procedures have been booked using this service and the rate of appointments using ZocDoc has increased 200 percent year-over-year.

"Our clients tell us that a robust integration of best-in-class software is increasingly crucial for their practices, and good for their patients. These savvy providers want these services - which they consider essential for their practices - to work together seamlessly. This partnership with CareCloud reflects our dedication to delivering the interoperability that they require,” said ZocDoc founder & COO Oliver Kharraz MD.
