Recently, OmniGuide Surgical, a provider of energy surgical solutions that enhance precision for surgeons and their patients, announced its latest product for ENT surgeons: the ELEVATE ENT System. It’s an all new instrumentation set (with hand pieces ranging from 7cm to 22cm in length) customized for head and neck surgeons and laryngologists to provide hemostatic cutting, ablation, coagulation and blunt dissection on specific patients.
The ELEVATE ENT System is the newest innovation utilizing OmniGuide’s proven CO2 laser technology to provide increased control in the field of minimally invasive surgery. It is an enhanced flexible fiber and instrumentation system offering no-touch, highly precise CO2 laser tool for surgical procedures. The ELEVATE ENT is very similar to OmniGuide’s BeamPath ENT System of surgical hand-held tools in head and neck surgery that has been used in nearly 100,000 surgical procedures primarily in the fields of gynecology and ENT.
The systems are similar as they both provide a fiber-delivered laser energy to treat hard-to-reach anatomy. Using a laser rather than a scalpel, surgeons can use the system for cutting and ablating tissue in a controlled and focused way in a surgical procedure: from handling oral cavity, oropharyngeal, and laryngeal resections to rapid and precise removal of tumors.
There are, however, differences in the way the ELEVATE ELITE System operates: it is more reliable and delivers consistently higher power. It provides up to 40 percent greater cutting speed than the BeamPath ENT system while improving fiber robustness. Even more, it incorporates counterweight technology to reduce fatigue and surgeon comfort.

According to Dr. Bruce Haughey, MBChB, FACS, FRACS, Kimbrough Professor and Director, Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Barnes Jewish Hospital, the ELEVATE ENT System is a marked improvement over the current technology: It is more reliable and delivers enhanced power delivery and robustness. Scott Flora, OmniGuide’s President and Chief Executive Officer, added that “it is a dramatic improvement from the current instrumentation on the market.”
Moreover, OmniGuide’s surgical precision energy cutting tools meet several currently unmet market needs for complete disease removal and reduced recurrences, Flora said. He concluded by mentioning that CO2 laser energy is “one of the safest, most effective and most precise surgical cutting modalities… [It] causes less damage to tissue versus other advanced energy products.” Therefore, ELEVATE ENT enhances surgical efficiency, improves a surgeon’s experience in the operating room, and provides better outcomes for patients around critical anatomical structures.
