AirStrip Announces New Mobile Healthcare Application for Windows 8.1

Mobile healthcare is one of those verticals that seems to see a fluctuation when it comes to adoption and popularity. One reason the popularity can fluctuate is because there simply aren’t many applications that mobile health users can take advantage of. AirStrip is a mobile healthcare firm that wants to make sure there are more applications out there that can have an effect on someone’s day-to-day life. The company also wants to make sure that these applications can be used by medical professionals to make their jobs that much easier.

In order to achieve that goal, the company recently announced the AirStrip ONE Cardiology for any device that is running or will run the Windows 8.1 operating system. The application will be usable on the Microsoft Surface tablets as well as any other mobile devices such as laptops and all desktops that run the 8.1 OS.

The AirStrip ONE Cardiology application is the company’s first release for Windows 8.1, but the company said they will be releasing other 8.1 compliant applications in the near future. “Mobility is no longer defined as just smartphones and tablets. This release of AirStrip ONE Cardiology for Windows 8.1 supports our vision of developing a consistent and seamless user experience for mobile clinical professionals, regardless of form factor,” AirStrip CEO Alan Portela said in a recent presentation announcing the new app. “Enabling clinicians to access vital data from across the care continuum in a single unified format will result in an increase in mobile utilization, helping to drive transformation toward higher quality, more efficient care that mitigates the increasing pressures on a fast-changing healthcare system.”

Palomar Health, the largest public healthcare district in the state of California, has been tabbed as the pilot site for this particular application. AirStrip and Palomar health have previously forged an innovation lab partnership and this program will be a part of that original agreement.
