Cubeware Adds STAS CONTROL for Managing Assisted Living Care Facilities to Its BISTRO App Store

Cubeware announced on Tuesday, September 24th, that its STAS CONTROL social services app has been added to BISTRO, the company’s searchable catalog of business solutions.

Based in Rosenheim, Germany, Cubeware GmbH develops business solutions for reporting, improving performance and dashboarding. The company has other offices in Europe, the U.S. and Asia and supports Microsoft and SAP platforms.

BISTRO refers to Business Intelligence App Store Realtime Operations. It is in beta testing and it is not possible to download apps, but Cubeware plans to add that capability in the future. The company also assures visitors to its websites that the apps themselves are ready.

STAS CONTROL is a system that supports different industries like manufacturing, engineering and, the latest addition to BISTRO, social services. It is designed to extract data for analysis and obtain key performance indicators (KPI) for performance reporting.

While nursing homes and assisted care facilities have common issues to deal with, like managing fee structures, payroll and overhead, there are care-related processes unique to such operations.

These facilities combine residency, medical care and operations like food service under one roof and must comply with regulations while managing costs in those areas. The social services flavor of STAS CONTROL is designed to address these specific issues.

Future trends suggest that the demand for senior care is only going to increase. The so-called ‘Baby Boomers’ in the U.S. are reaching retirement age and there are close to 80 million of them, over one-fourth of the country’s population.

According to a 2009 article by the Small Business Development Center, one million Americans live in senior care facilities and the number is expected to double by 2030. Another sad trend is that the number of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients is expected to increase along with the other numbers.

This is going to result in a greater reliance on solutions like STAS CONTROL for social services. It should also encourage competition as other software vendors see opportunity in the industry.
