BridgePoint Technologies Teams with Clevermind for Cognitive App

In an effort to create an app that could help people with decreased cognitive abilities, Clevermind LLC, a mobile app developer has partnered with BridgePoint Technologies, a full service information technology consulting firm.

The app, also called Clevermind, is an interactive iPad feature that includes speech recognition, cognitive assessment training, tracking and reporting, an easy-to-use interface. It also includes other capabilities designed to assist the cognitively disadvantaged to better use the Internet, manage schedules, connect with friends and family and access entertainment sites.

Ultimately, the app aims not only to make life a little easier for those with decreased cognitive functionality, but to actually strengthen user's cognitive proficiency.

BridgePoint Technologies is coming into play as a strategist, helping Clevermind manage the development and bring it to market. BridgePoint's mobile application development team is working on coordinating full-scale deployment and a mobile strategy.

John Gavilan, the vice president and CTO of BridgePoint Technologies, says that such a collaboration is new territory for the company.

“This is the first time we've built a mobile app for personal use and to support such a worthy and needed cause," Gavilan stated. “By utilizing the Mono development framework, our team is able to build the Clevermind app as a cross-platform application available for multiple device types in a much shorter timeframe than if they were built for a single, standard operating environment one at a time.

Clevermind has turned to crowd funding to get its app off the ground. The company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise awareness and of course money for its one of a kind product.

The Clevermind app is scheduled to hit the Apple App Store next June, for availability on the iPad. However, the company also has plans to make the app available on Android and Microsoft tablets soon after.
