Armada Health Care has announced that the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) has granted the company three types of accreditation: Health Call Center, Health Web Site and Health Content Provider.
Health Call Center accreditation gives validation to organizations that provide health information and triage to the public whether by telephone, website or other electronic means. In other words, medical professionals manning the call center deliver answers in a timely and confidential manner, providing medically appropriate advice and care.
Another URAC accreditation, Health Web Site, evaluates privacy, security, health content editorial processes, disclosure of financial relationships, linking policies, consumer complaints and emerging best practices for health website owners.
The final accreditation earned by Armada, Health Content Provider, means the company has developed editorial policies related to content, and applies these policies to health content licensed to other websites.
Armada Health Care provides information management services, specialty pharmacy contracts and other programs to pharmacies operating at the local, regional and national levels. Some of its programs include incentive-based programs, marketing metrics and informatics, Reach Rx (Patient Outreach Services) and the Armada Specialty Pharmacy Network (ASPN).
Joining Armada's incentive-based programs, for instance, allows pharmacies to access contracting and rebate programs for specialty pharmacy providers. Support and informatics for purchasing decisions as well as consultations related to specialty pharmacy business practices are also available, as is the industry's largest catalog of brand-name and generic drugs.
Armada also provides marketing metrics and informatics tools by interfacing with any pharmacy software operating system. Pharmacies can track data related to utilization by diagnosis, disease or actual length of therapy; compliance data and episodes of patient care; provider treatment and dispensing patterns; and formulary evaluation by drug and therapeutic equivalents.
Armada's Reach Rx program provides Web-based tools for specialty patients, timely prior-authorization processing, benefit verification, copayment assistance for pharmaceutical financial assistance programs, other compassionate care programs and compliance calls to ensure timely refills, and 24/7 patient assistance lines.
Finally, the ASPN operates a prescription transfer program, allowing pharmacies that experience payer lockouts, lack of expertise or limited distribution of certain medications to transfer those medications to a qualified pharmacy through the ASPN clearinghouse.
"In today's health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care," said URAC president and CEO Alan P. Spielman. "We applaud Armada on achieving URAC Health Call Center, Health Web Site and Health Content Provider accreditation."
