Caradigm and Orion Health have expanded their alliance agreement to integrate Orion Health’s Health Information Exchange (HIE) solution with the Caradigm Intelligence Platform (CIP) and ecosystem of applications.
Orion Health HIE provides a single unified view of patient data across and between healthcare organizations, through a Web-based interface that is accessible anywhere, anytime. The Caradigm Intelligence Platform, a cloud-based platform, aggregates and normalizes clinical, financial and operational data from across the care continuum.

Combined with the Caradigm Intelligence Platform’s powerful framework for robust applications, this expanded partnership creates a new generation of solutions that make it easier to aggregate and analyze data to improve care.
To the healthcare organizations, the integrated solution is expected to provide the capability to go beyond simple data exchange. Companies’ officials said that they can use near real-time data collected from disparate systems across the healthcare community, which will provide them insight about patients, populations, performance and outcomes.
Additionally, healthcare organizations can also now use the collected data in a wide range of CIP-powered applications. Companies’ officials said that these applications are developed to meet the challenges related to population health management, revenue and cost optimization and healthcare quality improvement.
Orion Health intends to develop new applications for Caradigm Intelligence Platform, thus expanding the Caradigm application ecosystem. Companies’ officials said that the platform benefits from the exhaustive data available via Orion Health HIE.
The new applications will target customers who need apps for decision support, quality improvement and metrics and population health management, according to companies’ officials.
Plus, the new agreement also calls on Orion Health to act as a referral partner for the Caradigm Intelligence Platform and the integrated solution in the U.S., and as a reseller and services provider for CIP and the Caradigm Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions in certain territories outside of the U.S.
Under the Caradigm brand, Caradigm is expected to resell Orion Health HIE as well as promote the integrated solution to health systems in the U.S.
Michael Simpson, CEO at Caradigm, said that the company is partnering with Orion Health to address the escalating needs of healthcare organizations worldwide with a new generation of interoperability solutions.

Earlier this year in January, New Mexico Health Information Collaborative (NMHIC) selected Orion Health's HIE platform to power the statewide exchange and expand the capabilities it offers to healthcare providers across New Mexico.
